Crystal & Glass
Most glass or crystal (except for the very thin ones) will stand up beautifully to being engraved. However, some glass or crystal items can be subject to breakage due to their inherent qualities. Antique, one-of-a-kind or non-replaceable items are at your own risk. We will do everything possible to protect your items and create a beautiful gift for you.
For crystal (such as toasting flutes) I discourage very delicate or thin ones. We are, after all, engraving into the surface of the crystal or glass and breakage is much more likely with the thinner crystal or glass. I can usually engrave on the base of the flutes without a problem – which is very lovely—because that area is generally substantially thicker than the bowl of the flute or champagne glasses.
If you have a cherished line from your vows to each other, I can include that on the base of your toasting flutes.
Champagne or Sparkling Wine
Champagne , sparkling wine or any liquid that is under pressure cannot be engraved. However, empty sentimental bottles (such as the champagne bottle from your first toast as husband and wife) can be engraved. They make great bar lamps or display items with your names and the date of your wedding (or engagement or other special occasion) hand engraved on the bottle.
Suggested Items to be Engraved:
This is only a partial list of items that you can possibly have engraved: toasting flutes; wedding knife and cake server; wedding rings; bridesmaid and groomsman gifts; jewelry; knives (such as hunting); wine bottles; wine glasses; teacher gifts (hand bell, apple, etc.); medical equipment(stethoscope)t; hairdresser's scissors; chef's knives; etc.
