I became a self-taught calligrapher – having caught the “bug” at an evening class taught at my church. This was approximately – well, it was many years ago. (Polyester was the rage!)

Many years later (fast forward to 2003), a dear friend and mentor who is a master calligrapher introduced me to the engraving side of this wonderful calligraphy hobby. My many years of doing calligraphy on any piece of paper that would hold still (Christmas cards, letters, children's birthday invitations, etc.) gave me a definite advantage to mastering the challenging tools of hand engraving. That – and a LOT of practice and perseverance – brings me to the level of skill I possess today.

I began doing hand engraving in 2003. My core focus since that time has been doing special events – such as fragrance events at major department stores such as Saks and Dillard's. Wanting to expand my business beyond the limited special event dates of department stores, I decided to launch this website and offer a range of items (as well as the possibility of doing client's unique pieces) to the public.

One of my focuses will be wedding items and gifts. To make it easier for the bride and groom, many items will be available at the click of your mouse – making your shopping for these much-wanted wedding day items so easy and so beautiful. I only carry items I would be proud to present to my family and friends for their wedding events.

To do the engraving, I use a high-caliber, precision hand instrument to create the one-of-a-kind, hand engraved pieces you see pictured. The engraving style is called Copperplate – a widely used style of writing that you will see often in almost every form of advertising and print. My engraving is not machine generated – it is all done by hand, one piece at a time. Since the item to be engraved doesn't need to be inserted into a machine, the engraving possibilities are vast. That's what makes your hand engraved item so special and unique. No two items are ever exactly alike.

There are extremely few hand engravers working for the public today. Doing the work by hand offers unending opportunities – almost any surface (curved, wavy, etc.) can be engraved by hand when it would be impossible to do so with a machine.

Since I will be creating a piece especially for you, it is possible for you to express your sentiments to suit the occasion. You don't have to choose something “off the rack” – it can be your personal thoughts, a special quote or self-creation. Nothing says “I Love You” more than a personalized gift that the receiver knows required a lot of thought and effort on your part – and one that was designed especially for them.
